Supercharged protein brand, Better Nature, is appealing to health-conscious meat-eaters with the launch of its New & Improved Organic Tempeh into Tesco, Asda and Ocado this week, which is gut-friendly and has a protein content that stands up to chicken.

The brand has hiked up the product’s protein content, now at 44g of protein per pack, which is the same as 6 eggs, up to 800g of butter beans, or 1 ⅓ chicken breasts.

The new product also absorbs flavours better, resulting in a juicier tempeh that can be flavoured and cooked just like chicken. However, better than chicken, it’s supercharged with gut-loving fibre and prebiotics and is a source of iron.

With the launch, the brand is appealing to meat-eaters looking for healthy protein swaps, a move that follows its recent departure from Veganuary. It’s about broadening customer reach from purely plant-based shoppers to a wider audience of meat-eaters looking to incorporate more plant-based wholefoods into their diets.
