The Urban Cordial Company has introduced three new flavours to its offer of premium, natural and seasonal cordials.

Apple, Lemon & Fennel, Strawberry & Sage and Rhubarb & Ginger are made by Londoner Natasha Steele who started the artisan brand after making made her first bottles of cordial from an elder tree by her allotment.

“This product was borne out of sheer frustration at not being able to find a high quality cordial, made using British, seasonal ingredients,” explains Steele. “What started out as a weekend hobby quickly became a full-time job, taking it to farmer’s markets and local food festivals in and around London.”

After initially foraging for fruits and herbs to make the cordials, the growth of the brand means that this has become unsustainable and now the majority of the fruits used are the wonky, ugly ones that the supermarkets don’t want.
