Tea India has launched its latest offer, Turmeric Chai, described as a unique blend inspired by a traditional family recipe.

The Turmeric Chai features a base of black Assam tea with 40% turmeric, ginger, fenugreek, galangal, cinnamon and India psyllium and has been created to make it easy to produce Haldi ka Doodh (golden milk) at home.

In Ayurvedic medicine golden milk has been traditionally used as a remedy for everything from a sore throat to a sleepless night and makes a comforting bedtime drink to soothe children to sleep.

The new chai is also designed to provide a simple way to add more turmeric to the diet and contains the active ingredient curcumin, which has strong antioxidant properties, essential for cell function.

“Our new Turmeric Chai is another delicious and authentically India blend to complement the Tea India range,” says Lisa Worthington, the brand’s head of marketing. “This can be drunk as an infusion or simmered in milk or a plant-based alternative for a coffee shop turmeric latte experience. We have been using Oatly Barista which creates an amazing froth! It is perfect for elevenses, an afternoon treat or a bedtime relaxant.”

Tea India sources tea from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms.
