Too Good To Go launches new delivery box service to reduce food waste

Food waste reduction business Too Good To Go has announced the launch of their Too Good To Go Parcels in the UK (exc. Northern Ireland).

The scheme, which is already available in other countries across Europe including France and Denmark offers an effective surplus food management channel to help brands reduce their food waste. The parcels are created using perfectly good excess food sourced from manufacturers, sold via the marketplace app and delivered directly to the customer.

Approximately 12 million tonnes of food are wasted annually at the production stage across Europe, with minor issues like damaged labels or packaging changes preventing them from reaching the shelves and leading to more than 32 million tonnes of CO2e emissions. This service enables food manufacturers and wholesalers to reduce their environmental footprint by reducing food waste, whilst unlocking value from surplus food and optimising their operations.

Partners benefit from increased product visibility with the apps community of over 17 million UK users, and customers benefit from the opportunity to try new products, the planet benefits from waste reduction.

Users who purchase the parcels can expect to receive ambient goods and pantry staples such as sauces, tea, coffee, snacks, soft drinks and pasta from a variety of well known brands including Tony’s Chocolonely, Heinz and The Skinny Food Co. Customers can purchase directly from the Too Good To Go app for a reduced price, which will then be delivered straight to their door.
