In a bid to offer ‘affordable convenience’ in the healthy food domain, SRSLY Low Carb has expanded its offer and entered the world of low-carb ready meals. The initial five-strong vegan offering consists of Chick’n Teriyaki Noodles, Chick’n Chow Mein Noodles, Vegetable Thai Red Noodles, Chick’n Pad Thai and Chick’n Mexican Rice. Each microwavable recipe incorporates low-carb konjac noodles or rice, aromatic spices, vegetables and crunchy peanuts designed to leave diners feeling fully satisfied, while containing only 15g of carbs and around 300 calories per portion. “Our ongoing remit is consumers searching for a low carb/sugar lifestyle that marries great taste with unrivalled convenience,” says SRSLY founder, Andy Welch. “We felt the need for fast turnaround ready meals crying out for a low-carb hero that pairs fair price points with less predictable flavour formats.”
Dr. Vegan has expanded its plant-based product range to include two new supplements: HeartPro and pH Hero. HeartPro combines botanicals, probiotics and essential nutrients to provide complete heart health support, along with a unique plant sterol complex and monacolin k, which, unlike statins, have no unwanted effects. Each capsule contains 900mg of phytosterols to help block cholesterol absorption in the gut, effectively lowering cholesterol levels. pH Hero is an advanced natural formula for vaginal and gastrointestinal health with a proprietary blend of five probiotic strains, prebiotics, cranberry, nettle, sea buckthorn and other essential nutrients. The product is formulated with 20bn active bacteria that are specifically chosen for their ability to help maintain a natural and healthy pH balance in the vagina, in turn protecting vaginas from infections, UTIs, dryness, vaginosis and other issues.
Driscoll’s has expanded the launch of its branded paper pack offer into ASDA supermarkets across south-east England and in Booths’ stores, expanding its UK availability from its initial listing at Wholefoods. The launch sees the brand feature British-grown berries in the paper pack range for the first time as well as the introduction of larger formats, with its raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries now available in 250g and 300g paper packs. The packaging is made from FSC-certified paper. Driscoll’s general manager UK, Nick Allen, says: “We are delighted to expand our availability for UK shoppers. Our new paper pack has already seen an overwhelmingly positive response …. Consumers are explicit in their desire to reduce single-use plastic wherever they can, particularly when it comes to fresh food. Only Driscoll’s offers paper packs at a significant scale within the berry aisle and, as retailers also have sustainability targets too, it seems like a win-win solution.”
