Having recently moved location from County Durham to Birtley, Tyne & Wear, clean organic nutrition brand Natural Nutrients came up with a novel idea for customers visiting its new store to buy supplements: a wheel of fortune.
“We moved into our new premise and wanted to offer an incentive for people coming in to the store so came up with the idea of introducing a wheel of fortune game,” explains brand director Craig Newbigin.
After only two days Natural Nutrients was receiving Facebook messages from online customers saying they would like to play or requesting that a spin be done for them, so the brand designated specific days when they could also take part. “We decided it would be good content to post across our social channels to increase engagement by using Facebook’s ‘live’ feature. On a Monday and Friday, anyone who places an order can message us over social media with their order number, and we then go live on Facebook and give them a spin,” adds Newbigin.
Prizes include loyalty points, money off, free samples, shaker bottles, T-shirts and packs of popcorn, which are added to the winners’ orders, as well as a fitness challenge forfeit, videos of which participants can post in the comments section of the videos.
“It’s proved to be very engaging and we have been surprised with how successful it has been, with orders increasing on those days with the extra engagement. We have also grown our social following.”
