Millies independent health and beauty store in Leeds city centre recently celebrated its sixth birthday with an event which also served to show off the store’s new look.

The one-day celebration included a vegan cooking demonstration by food blogger Little Miss Meat-Free, who as champion of PETA’s Great Vegan Bake Off 2014 also shared her tips on becoming an award-winning vegan cook.

As well as exclusive offers and discounts, all guests received a free goodie bag and raffle ticket to enter into a draw with the prizes including a hamper, a free MicroZone Dermalogica facial treatment and a mini Dermalogica gift bag.

Claire Dearnley, manager of the store, said: “We greeted each customer with one of our new cotton bags with our logo on in which we had some free products and samples of the vitamins we sell and some gifts that various suppliers had provided. We had a lot of cheese tasting on our deli counter as well as turkey in the kitchen and vegetarian and vegan mince pies for customers to taste.”

The store also has a beauty salon upstairs which provided free filing and polishes as well as Dermalogica Face Mapping on the day.

Owner Natalie Millington commented on the roll out of the store’s new look: “We’ve just had some rebranding and a new logo done which incorporates three different colours to represent the three different areas of the store – supplements, beauty and food. We’ve just done the shop front and signage and we’re now starting inside.”
