Now in its third year, Independents’ Day 2013 will take place on 4 July.
The event is the highlight of an on-going campaign organised by the National Skills Academy for Retail aimed at giving a voice to the UK’s independent retailers.
As well as providing a great way to show the value of independent shops to the local community, there’s a real opportunity to encourage footfall on the day – and potentially ‘capture’ new customers as future regulars.
Retailers can download a wide range of marketing collateral from the National Skills Academy for Retail website – from posters to post cards, web buttons to bunting.
The campaign organisers are also encouraging retailers to hold special events – from parties to treasure hunts, create special window displays and to ask their local MP to visit their store and show support for independents. More than anything, they say, Independents’ Day is a great way to thank loyal customers.
