GNC’s second UK concept store has opened in the Friary Centre in Guildford.

The 550sq ft sports nutrition shop features interactive fixtures including a TRX Challenge Zone for live workouts, a Sports Bar mix-and-go unit as well as touch-screen displays loaded with product information and exercise videos.

The six store staff are part of the Qualified to Advise scheme and have worked their way to achieve the Advanced Lifestyle Advisor title through the company’s training academy.

The first concept store opened in Birmingham New Street and GNC plans to roll out the format to more locations during the coming year.

“Our mission is to help people get one step closer to their goals, and with these interactive elements we think we can help customers do this in a fun, engaging and interactive way,” explained Nicola Simpson, head of marketing for GNC in the UK. “The feedback has been excellent with many people stopping to chat with our staff and challenge themselves on the equipment. We look forward to developing this concept further to bring fitness to more high streets around the country.”
