Tunbridge Wells-based boutique health store and clinic Botanica celebrated its fourth birthday recently with a day-long ‘Feel Good Friday’ event.
Beginning with a complimentary ‘raw food power breakfast, the event included free consultations with a stylist, yoga classes and makeovers. Customers who were lucky enough to be in the store later in the afternoon were treated to a glass of celebratory prosecco, and salmon and ginger parcels.
Botanica co-owner, Naomi Murray, explained the thinking behind the event: “We felt as a family run business that we wanted to offer a day where people could come and have an uplifting time without a fee attached. Not only because of the support we have been shown by customers but also for those who are in need of a break and a bit of down time.
“The yoga classes, styling tips and makeovers were met with real enthusiasm and everyone just enjoyed hanging around, having some nice food and companionship with others.
“Someone actually gave me a book that day as a gift called Why kindness is good for you. It’s a wonderful read, and studies show how acts of kindness are not only good for you emotionally but physically too. Perhaps we need to do more events like this!

“It was a really special day and we felt we had really been able to give something back. It really was a day all about giving.”
