On 14 June a team from Peak Health Food in Rugeley will be aiming to complete the Three Peaks Challenge for charity.
Jason Parrish, Emma Mayou and Carey Dyer will be climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, all in 24 hours.
Marie Longman, manager of the store, explains: “It was the idea of my partner Jason, who announced he was thinking about doing the challenge this year. I casually mentioned it to Emma, who works for us, and she said she would love to join him (being an avid fitness fanatic). Emma then enlisted her friend Carey.
The trio recently did a trial of Snowdon, completing it in four hours 20 minutes and are now all in training.
“We decided to make it a fundraiser,” adds Longman, “enlisting the help of suppliers. So far, we have had a great response from suppliers – I am just so touched by their kindness and generosity!”
Peak Health Food will run an in-store tombola and a hamper raffle to be drawn at the same time as the challenge, and the store itself will also be donating lots of prizes.
The charities chosen by Jason, Emma and Carey are Air Ambulance, Action Medical Research for Children, The Extra Guest and Food For All.
Peak Health Food will be creating a Just Giving page and publicising this on its Facebook page too, so keep an eye out if you’d like to sponsor the team.
Natural Products wishes the intrepid trio the best of luck!
