The sun shone, salsa dancers swayed and a jazz band swung as natural and organic suppliers gathered in Jubilee Square, Brighton on Saturday (July 2) to help Infinity Foods celebrate its 40th Anniversary.
Saturday’s well-attended ethical market provided a perfect opportunity for the local North Laine community to meet the people who supply their favourite shop — from local farmers to fair trade organisations. Clearspring, Suma, Community, Equal Exchange, Tisserand, Meridian and Provamel were among the nationally known natural and organic names taking part, while the presence of lots of locally-based producers and suppliers — like Sussex High Weald, Montezuma, Tisserand, Raw Living and Flax Farm — confirmed Infinity Foods’ commitment to local sourcing.
Entertainment was provided by local Brighton band Zora and the Tatsmiths, the Silver Sounds Samba and Ultraswing Jazz band. Local brewers and open air version of the esteemed Infinity Foods café kept the dancers fully fuelled.
• We’ll be posting some more photos and video soon. In the meantime, a short-hand version of the Infinity Foods story appears here.
