The Soil Association staged two stylish and thought-provoking events on the eve of this month’s Organic September – the first, to kick start this year’s Organic Beauty Week and the second, the official launch to Organic September itself.
As well as showcasing the very best in both the organic beauty and organic food and drink categories, each event featured lively panel discussions as part of the ongoing initiative to stimulate a national conversation about organic.
At the Organic Beauty Week launch – held in the suitably elegant surroundings of Covent Garden’s Rosewood Hotel – well known figures from the organic beauty world joined a Soil Association team to discuss the opportunities and challenges for organic beauty, and explain how celebrity supporters and other ‘influencers’ are driving awareness of the burgeoning category.
The official Organic September launch event took place E5 Bakehouse – a working organic bakery in East London – and featured a panel that included Soil Association chief executive, Helen Browning, and campaign ambassadors, Anna Jones, and John Quilter (aka the Food Busker). It was the perfect setting and occasion to tell the organic story and feed both body and mind with discussions, demonstrations and delicious organic tapas and cocktails.
