Conscious Chocolate officially relaunched last weekend at Natural & Organic Products Europe, following new investment from Fortissimo Group.
The investment sees Fortissimo Group – which purchased The Raw Chocolate Company around 18 months ago – take a majority share in Conscious Chocolate in a bid to further the appeal of the brand with improvements including reformulations, packaging redesigns, NPD and increased marketing support.
The relaunch revealed new recipes which replace the previously used fructose with coconut blossom sugar, which boasts a higher level of vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients, says the brand. Conscious Chocolate bars have also been increased in size from 50g to 60g and now have compostable film and packaging.
“Conscious, the original raw chocolate pioneer, takes the joys of chocolate to another level,” says founder Emma Jackman. “ This is an ‘actively healthy bar’ with the raw processing keeping the integrity of the ingredients, vitamins and minerals intact by the lack of heat. Smooth, creamy and crafted with love, Conscious bars are always raw, vegan and organic, free from dairy, soya, gluten and refined sugars, but bursting with taste. Having worked hard to avoid compromising we can now offer a bar that boasts a home compostable film and board that is made from vegetable inks with a water based varnish.”
Fortissimo Group has worked with brands including Quorn, Mars, Heck, Kettle Chips and Greggs.
