Several natural and organic brands have again made it onto The Grocer’s ‘Fast 50’ list of the fastest growing UK food and drink companies.
To qualify for inclusion on the list brands must be privately owned and this year needed to demonstrate a two-year compound growth of at least 13.9% (last year it was 14.9% – The Grocer suggests the “slight slowing may be due to the impending uncertainty due to Brexit”.
Natural snack brand Natural Selection Foods (Evolution Foods) is straight in at number two for 2016, with 2YR CAGR of 56.7% and £27.7m sales. Pukka Herbs retains its number six position (2YR CAGR 31.5%, £22.4m) and Fentimans is down from seven to 10 (2YR CAGR 28.2%, £19.4m). Burts Crisps (2YR CAGR 16%, £19.7m), Marigold Health Foods (2YR CAGR 15.2%, £28.3m) and Nairn’s Oatcakes (2YR CAGR 14.4%, £24.6m) were also new entries in 2016, ranking at 41, 45 and 48 respectively.
