Biotiful Dairy has created what it says is the first innovation of its kind to launch in the UK – Kefir Cheese – in a bid to shake up the soft cheese category.
Biotiful Kefir Cheese is a cultured soft cheese made with British milk and authentic kefir cultures which contain billions of gut-friendly bacteria. High in protein, calcium and vitamin B12, the creamy product is low in calories (30 calories per 30g) and fat (0.3g or less per 30g).
The new all-natural cheeses come in three savoury flavours – Original, Herb & Garlic and Red Pepper & Cumin – and are positioned as healthier and tasty alternatives to cottage or cream cheese.
The spreadable cheese can be eaten with salads and crudités or as a toast, cracker or jacket potato topping, and the brand says it is targeting ‘al desko’ lunchtimes when people seek convenient, healthy and tasty options.
“We are really excited to be bringing our expertise in gut health to a new category with the launch of our ground-breaking Kefir Cheese,” says Biotiful Dairy founder Natasha Bowes. “The soft cheese category has been crying out for innovation, and we have the right product range to bring excitement to shoppers, who are looking for better nutrition, coupled with great flavour in a convenient format. All this will ensure we are bringing new consumers into natural gut health.”
