Dash Water has launched its new British sparkling waters, infused with wonky or surplus fruit or vegetables.

Available in two flavours – Cucumber and Lemon – Dash Water contains no sugar, calories or sweeteners. The drinks are infused over eight hours, using three simple ingredients: British spring water, wonky cucumbers or lemons and bubbles.

The brand, created by Alex Wright and Jack Scott – who met when they worked in the mainstream soft drinks industry – was backed with funding and mentorship from Virgin Start Up.

The founders both come from farming backgrounds, so were familiar with food waste caused by regulations regarding shape and size of produce. They worked closely with the food waste charity Feedback to source the surplus ingredients used for the drinks.

Commenting on the launch, Scott and Wright say: “We’re passionate about offering drinks that are healthy, but also crafted in a sustainable way. We’ve had a great reception to our infusions so far, they’re a perfect fit for specialty stores and deli owners who are craving a drink with provenance and transparency. Our priority has been to not only create something that tastes exceptional, but also pops off the shelf and looks desirable for our target consumers.”
