National Eczema Week gets underway

National Eczema Week is running from 13-21 September, and with the number of people diagnosed with eczema now estimated to be one in five UK children and one in 12 adults, the condition is on the rise.

Eczema is a long-term chronic condition which can cause itchy, inflamed, dry, cracked and bleeding skin.

The condition can be triggered by environmental factors such as dust mites, grasses, pollens and stress as well as certain foods like cow’s milk, eggs, citrus, chocolate, peanuts and artificial colourings.
