It is with great sadness that we have to report that Joe Daly, one of the health food trade’s most admired and best-loved ambassadors, has died suddenly. Our thoughts at this time are with Sarah and Joe’s family and friends.
With his passing, the healthfood trade has lost one of its most experienced and best loved ambassadors. Joe was known throughout Britain and Ireland not only for his extensive knowledge of the world of natural remedies, but for his ready smile and his willingness to go the extra mile to help, whether at work or through his involvement in the Fair Trade Movement and with charities such as Oxfam, Hessilhead Wildlife Rescue Centre and Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Joe came into the healthfood trade in the early 1980s, working as a sales representative for various companies such as Healthilife, Solgar and Brewhurst before moving into the retail sector. While still a retailer, he joined A.Vogel/Bioforce in 1995 as Territory Manager for Scotland, North-east England and north Cumbria, before taking on the role of Field Sales Manager in 2000. Always passionate about Alfred Vogel and his remedies, Joe saw his task as helping to educate everyone in the virtues of herbal medicines.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
