The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has named the members of its health claims panel for 2015-2018, which will feature ten new faces.

New members to the panel on Dietetic Products, Nutrition and Allergies include Barbara Bulinghame, Professor Jean Louis Bresson, Hendrik Van Loveren and Inge Mangelsdorf.

Dr Tobin Robinson, head of EFSA’s Science Strategy and Coordination Department, commented: “We have attracted very highly qualified scientists from across Europe that will make a difference to Europe’s food safety system. Many of the new members come from universities and research institutes, meaning that there is a growing awareness of EFSA’s work in academic circles.

It has not been announced who will replace Ambroise Martin as chair of the panel.

The scientists will start their three-year term on 1 July.
