The online organic cosmetic science school Formula Botanica has moved its online courses over to a new eLearning platform, Moodle, for 2016.

Motivated by the school’s success and the growth of the organic personal care market, the move to the new software aims to deliver a set of student-centric tools to empower both teaching and learning.

The school’s online courses are now supported by interactive online games, Open Badges which are awarded to students for successfully completing courses or modules, Wiki-style cosmetic science glossaries and online chat and discussion forums.

The courses themselves have also been upgraded to include dozens of videos, interactive coursework and new formulation techniques and tips.

In addition, Formula Botanica’s director Lorraine Dallmeier has hinted that new courses are in the offing for 2016: “After the successful launch of our Certificate in Cosmetic Stability Testing and Certificate in Natural Cosmetic Preservation last year, we are now eyeing up the natural hair care market – we will unveil more information later in the year!”
