Entry is now open for the FreeFrom Food Awards which in 2015 will be in their eighth year.
Entries are judged by nearly 50 independent chefs, food writers, dietitians and nutritionists along with coeliacs and allergy sufferers.
Approximately 400 entries are gathered in 17 categories which this year include: Down the pub and the bar – gluten-free beers, sulphite-free wines and gluten- and dairy-free savoury snacks; Tea time – scones, crumpets, biscuits, cookies, brownies, cake bars and celebration cakes; Meaty and fishy meals; Veggie meals; Desserts and Puddings; and, for the first time, Retailer of the Year.
Winners are able to use the FreeFrom Food Awards round yellow winners’ logos on their products and websites.
Michelle Berriedale-Johnson, director of the awards commented: “As the free-from sector grows, so do the awards and it is great to see so many companies – from one-man/woman start-ups to multinationals – battling it out to prove that free-from food is not only as good as ‘normal’ food, but actually better!”
