Soil Association director Helen Browning says that the organisation’s annual conference will aim to “speak to a broader audience — non-organic farmers and the wider public as well as our own community”.

This year’s conference — which takes place in London in 2 March —  focus on innovation in food and farming. This will be explored through the two major themes of the Soil Association’s recently published strategy: Facing the Future, which explores the exciting scientific and technical progress being made in organic and low-input farming systems; and Good Food for All, which contributes to the important debate about food, public health and social justice.

Guest speakers will include the economist and author of The Real World Economic Outlook, Ann Pettifor, and professor Hans Herren of the Millennium Institute.

The conference will also see the launch of the 2012 Organic Market Report and a discussion on the key market trends it has identified.
