Health store retailers interviewed by Natural Products reported stronger than expected sales this holiday season.

NP spoke with six retailers in the west of England between Christmas and New Year.

Tom Edwards of Harvest Natural Foods in Bath told us: “Sales before Christmas were pretty good. Certainly they were higher than the past few years. Footfall was definitely good and associated sales were higher. Essentially it was the same customers spending more.”

Leon Book of New Leaf Health Foods, also in Bath, said: “We’ve run this store for six years and we’ve had the best pre-Christmas trade in that time. Footfall has been excellent and a good proportion have been spending.”

Nina Hammett from Green Ginger in nearby Corsham said that pre-Christmas trade was well up on last year and that the store was busy right up to closing on Christmas Eve. She added: “Our website definitely generated visits and sales in-store.”
