Channel 4 has announced it is making an eight part new TV series called The Food Hospital.

In scientifically controlled experiments patients suffering from a range of medical conditions and symptoms will be invited to attend The Food Hospital where they will be prescribed specific diets to find out if their health problems can be alleviated or cured by the food they eat.

The 8 x 60 minute series will follow the patients as they undertake their new dietary regime and attend follow-up appointments at the hospital where their progress will be monitored.

Liz Warner, CEO at production company Betty, says: “Increasingly, forward-thinking doctors are taking an integrated approach to medicine and not just using one discipline, but using diet alongside other treatments. We are really excited about looking at the healing properties of nutrition.”
