Leading brands are set to take legal action against supermarket own-label copycat lines, reports The Grocer.

Recently, the British Brands Group (BBG) commissioned a survey from behavioural science company Mountainview Learning.  The company’s research confirms that consumers make errors when supermarkets position copycat products alongside genuine famous brand lines. Lawyers representing BBG told the food industry weekly that they now have “powerful new evidence” to take on the supermarkets in the courts.
