This month sees the launch of the FreeFrom Eating Out Awards organised by the team behind the FoodsMatter website.

The awards are designed to celebrate free-from menu offerings and good allergen awareness, as well as to raise awareness of the opportunities offered to food service providers by the growing number of people wanting free-from options.

The FreeFrom Eating Out Awards are being launched ahead of the new Food Information Regulations which will come into force in December, requiring all foodservice outlets to provide accurate information about the 14 major allergens in the food that they serve.

Commenting on the launch, awards patron Antony Worrall Thompson said: “The FreeFrom Eating Out Awards are an exciting opportunity for this section of consumers. They will set a bar and encourage the pursuit of excellence across the industry.”

Entry for the awards opens on 27 May and closes on 31 August. For more details and to enter, visit www.freefromeatingoutawards.co.uk.
