Agrochem trade association Crop Protection Association is stepping up the pressure on the UK’s biggest retailers to drop their resistance to GM, reports The Grocer.

CPA’s chief executive Dominic Dyer told the food industry weekly (December 10 edition) that the big retailers were “holding back” on engaging publicly on GM although his organisation had “good relations with many retailers behind the scenes”

Dyer tells The Grocer that the CPA will be telling retailers to “engage more, and be part of a frank debate about plant science, food policy and costs”.
