Working in partnership with the British Beauty Council, Holland & Barrett (H&B) made it easier for customers to make more planet-friendly choices during May by offering Buy One Get One Half Price on ten green product swaps.
“At Holland & Barrett we want our customers to make sustainable choices by offering greener alternatives which can be easily incorporated into their daily routines,” explains Jo Cooke, H&B beauty trading director and founding member of the British Beauty Council’s Sustainabile Beauty Coalition. “There are loads of beauty products that are kinder to the planet; whether by using less plastic packaging, cutting down on surplus water or eliminating planet-harming chemicals.
At Holland & Barrett we want our customers to make sustainable choices by offering greener alternatives which can be easily incorporated into their daily routines
“Little swaps can help make a difference and we have worked hard to offer sustainable swaps at every step of the beauty regime; from reusable cotton pads and period cups, to biodegradable cotton buds and waterless haircare and skincare bars. It’s important to us that customers don’t compromise on the quality of their beauty products. Not only are these options more planet-friendly, but they are just as effective as their original counterparts.”
The retailer identified these ten eco-conscious alternatives as being kind to skin and planet: H&B Thick Cotton Pads; OrganiCup Menstrual Cup; Flux Undies Period Proof Underwear; Humble Corn Starch Floss Picks Mint; We Love The Planet Deo Stick Sweet Serenity; H&B Mineral Suncream; Ethique Pinkalicious Shampoo Bar For Normal Hair; Ethique The Guardian Conditioner Bar For Dry Hair; Dr Organic Moringa Facial Cleansing Powder; Live Coco Recyclable Electric Toothbrush Heads.
Adds Jayn Sterland, chair of the Sustainable Beauty Coalition: “The purpose of the Sustainable Beauty Coalition is to pave the way to a more planet-friendly beauty industry. A part of this is to offer simple and easy solutions to help consumers lower their environmental impact, and ultimately give their beauty regime a sustainable shake up. There are so many exciting developments being made in this area, and we encourage all retailers to prioritise products that are ethically sourced and use sustainable packaging that eliminates harmful waste.”
