Natural and organic supermarket chain Planet Organic has announced plans to open a branch in Henley-on-Thames later this year, the first time the retailer has launched outside of London.
The 2,440sqft store is located at 12-16 Market Place, premises that previously housed a Superdrug and a Bensons for Beds, and was originally home to the Co-Op in Henley from the 1960s to the 1980s, before its redevelopment in 1984.
The new Henley store will feature a broad range of products, spanning organic fresh produce, groceries, chilled and frozen ranges, beauty and wellbeing products, along with the brand’s coffee, fresh juices, smoothies and Food to Go.
It marks a pivotal moment in our growth plans as we expand outside of London for the first time
“We’re hugely excited to announce the forthcoming opening of our latest store in Henley,” comments Nick Ridley, property director at Planet Organic. “It marks a pivotal moment in our growth plans as we expand outside of London for the first time. Henley is a fantastic fit for Planet and we can’t wait to bring our first-class range of products – as well as an enthusiastic, highly-trained team of expert colleagues – to the local community … and invite them to join our mission to discover better at Planet Organic.”
The opening of the Henley store is the latest step in the retailer’s expansion, led by CEO George Dymond, and follows the opening of a new distribution centre in nearby Sunbury-on-Thames which will centralize its supply chain operation and ensure a much greener and more efficient delivery process.
