The European Specialist Sports Nutrition Alliance (ESSNA) has welcomed its newest member, Guernsey-based sports nutrition retailer Healthspan Elite.
After founding Healthspan in 1996 – which grew into the UK’s largest mail-order VMS supplier – Derek Coates launched Healthspan Elite in 2014 to specifically support the needs of professional athletes.
“ESSNA is a very credible association in the sports nutrition industry, and one we’re very proud to be a new member of,” comments Chris Fisher, head of Healthspan Elite. “We hope that being part of ESSNA will provide assurance to our customers and partners of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards in everything we do. We look forward to the added industry insight and governance that ESSNA provide.”
Adds Adam Carey, chair of ESSNA: “ESSNA’s ethos on safe retailing of sports nutrition products and strong commitment to work alongside legislators at both European and national level to ensure a strong voice for the sports nutrition industry is of great importance to all our members.
“We are delighted to welcome Healthspan Elite to ESSNA and very much look forward to working alongside them in future, hoping that the team will make full use of the value of joining our industry body.”
ESSNA has a membership of over 50 companies from across Europe, and acts as a forum for discussion as well as a vehicle for action for the sports nutrition industry.
