Organic and Fairtrade pioneer brand Green & Black’s has launched a non-organic range of chocolate bars into the US market. It’s the first time the company has made a product using non-organic ingredient since its launch in 1991.

Green & Black’s says that the new “discovery” range sits alongside its organic products in the US market and has been created to appeal “to people who might never have tried Green & Black’s before”.

The new premium positioned non-organic range, which uses cocoa sourced through the Cocoa Life scheme, is available in 90g bars. Retailing at $5 they are priced slightly higher than the organic variant ($5 for a 100g bar).

A Green & Black’s spokesperson told the Independent that all its products in the UK continue to be organic.
