Sustainable brand Doctor A Cosmetics has launched today with a mission to provide science-backed, high quality skincare made with ethically sourced ingredients and presented in eco-friendly packaging.
Founded by Dr Anika Walia, the initial offering comprises three plant-powered skincare products handmade in the UK and containing no parabens, sulphates, silicones, palm oil, microbeads or alcohol.
Doctor A 24K Gold Royalty Treatment is a blend of argan, coconut, castor, rosehip, grapeseed and bergamot oils plus real 24K carat gold leaf made from recycled jewellery to improve complexion and leave skin looking healthy and radiant. The lightweight facial oil absorbs easily into the skin, leaving no sticky residue and contains anti-ageing properties. It can be used on acne scarring, pigmentation, fine lines and stretch marks.
A fragrance-free, brightening moisturizer, the Vitamin C Brightening Moisturiser combines powerful antioxidants and vitamins including vitamins A, C and E, salicylic acid, squalene, glycerine and plant extracts. Vitamin C helps protect the skin from pollution damage, reduce pigmentation and scarring, tackle the signs of ageing and brighten and even skin tone. The moisturiser is suitable for sensitive skin and can be used on scarring, pigmentation, fine lines and stretch marks.
Intensely Exotic Night Repair Moisturiser is packed with a rich blend of nourishing ingredients to help soothe dry and dehydrated skin. With hyaluronic acid, squalane, mango butter, grapeseed face oil, red raspberry face oil, it is designed to help heal and restore skin and give it a healthy, supple glow.
“Doctor A Cosmetics is a British skincare brand committed to delivering exceptional skincare results using naturally derived and ethically sourced ingredients,” says Walia. “With our ethos of sustainability and giving back to the community, we donate 5% of our annual profits to Anika Food Charity.
“I started Doctor A Cosmetics as an ode to skin of colour and different skin types, as representation and inclusivity is missing so much in our beauty industry. With my brand, I am determined to change that and give a voice to causes that are currently prevalent in our society.”
