Crave

Crave founder Rob Brice is celebrating winning a TV competition which rewards the category winners with a listing in retail giant Aldi. The episode of the Channel 4 show Aldi’s Next Big Thing, which aired on 17 November, saw Brice and his free-from brand Crave make it through to the final in the store cupboard category. At Aldi HQ, Brice presented products to Julie Ashfield, Aldi’s MD of buying and was selected as one of two finalists. He then had two weeks to create a new product complete with packaging design and came up with a Flamin’ Hot maize snack – Wots’inits – which won him the category and a Specialbuys listing in Aldi stores nationwide. “We travelled back for the final and presented our new product to the team, lots of work had gone into it, the packaging and product itself. To then hear Julie, call our name out as the winner of our category … I was gobsmacked,” says Brice.
