Whole Earth is sponsoring the Man V Horse marathon for the second year running, and has revealed its team for the race.

Best friends Sarah Booth, Helen Sutherland and Lauren Golledge from Portsmouth were chosen following a nationwide search. They will run the run as a relay team and will receive training and advice from double Olympian Liz Yelling, her celebrity personal trainer husband Martin, and nutritionist Charlotte Stirling Reed. The team will also benefit from a monthly supply of tasty Whole Earth peanut butter to help fuel their training.

The Whole Earth Man V Horse endurance challenge takes place in June. Now in its 37th year, the race pits runners against 60 riders on horseback as they race about 21 miles over wild terrain in Powys, mid-Wales.

Last year Whole Earth sponsored a team of highly experienced athletes to run the event as Team Whole Earth with the team achieving podium finishes on the day. This year, however, Whole Earth has taken a different approach and chosen three less experienced, but very enthusiastic female runners who are looking to tackle their first big challenge.

“We’re very proud to be sponsoring Whole Earth Man V Horse for another year,” commented Adele Ward, Whole Earth brand controller at Wessanen UK. “Peanut butter is a great natural source of energy and so it makes the perfect accompaniment to endurance training. I wish our 2016 Whole Earth Team all the best with their training and look forward to seeing how they’re getting on later in the year. It should be a terrific race!”
