London-based independent tea company We Are Tea has launched a limited edition Darjeeling afternoon black tea blend Charitea – the profits from which will go to raise funds and awareness for the Contact the Elderly charity.

spenceContact the Elderly organizes monthly Sunday afternoon tea parties for small groups of people aged 75 and over, who live alone, to offer an important friendship link.

Each limited edition pack features the face of a regular tea party guest who has benefited from the work of the charity. All profits will go directly to the charity.

“Contact the Elderly are an ongoing charity partner and we’re delighted to be able to support the incredible work they do,” said We Are Tea founder, Darren Spence. “The partnership was a natural fit for us, not only because it funds the tea parties, but regular chats with an elderly neighbour can make a real difference. Put the kettle on and have a conversation.”
