Family-owned Viridian Nutrition is sponsoring the launch of an art festival showcasing the talents of eight creatives in the Northamptonshire market town of Daventry.
To mark the start of the inaugural Daventry Unframed festival, the artists – whose skills range from illustration, painting, photography, print and digital art – gathered in Daventry to create Chalk It Up street art conveying messages ranging from selfcare to the natural world.
“With so much inspiration from the creative community, we believe this is a wonderful project for Viridian to help bring some colour, joy and positivity to what has been challenging times for us all,” says Tom Welch, Viridian’s events and marketing manager. “This initiative is the perfect example of how art can be used to connect with everyone. Viridian is delighted to sponsor the first ever Daventry Unframed art festival and looks forward to many more in the future.”
Each community artist will be showcasing their collections in gallery spaces within the shops and cafés in Daventry for a minimum two-week period during the summer with individual displays connected by an art trail to encourage visitors to explore the historic town. Details of each artist can be found in a catalogue available in each exhibiting venue.
The instore exhibition has been organized by the Daventry Retail Forum, an alliance of independent retailers and eateries which includes Sheaf Street Health Food Store, which is also hosting an instore gallery.
“We would like to thank this year’s local artists who have donated their time to the festival, along with the shops/cafes who are hosting the art exhibitions and our event sponsors – local employer Viridian Nutrition,” says forum coordinator Lorna White.
