Popular British babyfood firm Plum Baby has been acquired by American organic food supplier Plum Organics, reports The Grocer.
The deal will create a joint operation worth $120m in retail sales and exploit existing supply chains across both the UK and US. Both businesses were set up by parents in 2006 and specialise in organic baby food products. Plum Organics was the first company to introduce the pouch format to the US babyfood market.

“Plum Organics is known in the US as a game-changing innovation hothouse,” said Plum Baby CEO Scott Wotherspoon. “We can’t wait to capture some of that momentum by bringing their products to little ones in the UK and beyond.”
