Visitors got the chance to meet two sporting stars at aussie supplement brand Swisse Vitamins’ stand at Natural & Organic Products Europe.

Olympic swimming star Matthew Targett and Tour de France 2011 winner Cadel Evans spoke about the importance of optimum nutrition in their respective disciplines.

“My biggest thing with my diet is to stay away from processed foods,” says Evans.

“That’s the baseline of my nutrition choices. I also try to eat food that’s seasonal in whatever place I’m competing in the world.”

“Athletes bodies are pushed to the limit,” he continued.

“So anything we can do for immune defence – like taking supplements – is important. Swisse has a good approach to living a healthy life and it’s something that fits well with me.”

‘I compete all over the globe,” adds Targett.

“That means often being in a confined area with other athletes and it’s vital to avoid colds and flu that can put you out of action. You have to take supplements – but it’s hard finding one you can trust.”

Swisse Vitamins has just been announced as the official supplements brand to the Australian Olympics team.
