Start-up company Just Bee has introduced the first honey-infused spring water drinks to the UK market.
Founded by Joe Harper and Andy Sugden, Just Bee is launching an initial three-strong range – Apple & Ginger, Blueberry & Lemon, and Lemon & Green Tea – which uses only honey to sweeten and are 100% natural, with less than 50 calories in each carton.
Harper, who comes from a family of beekeepers, commented on the launch: “Just Bee is an innovative brand which really taps into what consumers are looking for right now: a healthy, refreshing and importantly low-sugar drink that doesn’t compromise on taste.”
The founders have decided to donate 10% of the company’s profits to UK charities including Friends of the Honey Bee, a charity that helps to reverse the dramatic decline in bee numbers. “It was really important for us to support the honeybees,” says Harper. “Bees are going through a tough time and we fully appreciate how important they are, not only for producing honey but the wider environment too.”
The drinks are packaged in environmentally friendly Tetra Pak 330ml cartons.
