Provamel is launching a new Spelt addition to its growing range of milk alternatives, as the brand continues to extend its plant-based offering beyond its soya heartland.
Made from spelt and spring water, the new 100% organic Spelt variant is described as offering a smooth texture and sweet flavour. The launch rides on the back of a growing consumer awareness of spelt, the ancient grain that contains a wide range of nutrients, including fibre and Vitamin B.
Meanwhile, Provamel’s Rice Original gets a new, improved recipe with a stronger, more intense rice flavour.
John Allaway, commercial director at Provamel, said: “These latest launches are fantastic additions to our ever-expanding range. These new arrivals represent a real opportunity to build on the success of our Almond Unsweetened alternative to milk, which hits shelves earlier this year, with a great entry point for consumers keen to trial the plant-based category.”
“Provamel is dedicated to endorsing plant-based foods as a more efficient way to feed the world: a hectare of land where plants are grown is able to feed five times as many people than one used for meat production”
Allaway says the range expansion demonstrates Provamel’s commitment to developing the plant-based drinks category and furthering the company’s sustainability mission. He added: “Provamel is dedicated to endorsing plant-based foods as a more efficient way to feed the world: a hectare of land where plants are grown is able to feed five times as many people than one used for meat production.”
Provamel Spelt and Provamel Rice retail at £1.99 and £1.69 respectively.
