The Healthy Bowels Company has been acquired by expanding probiotic firm Probiotics International Ltd (Protexin).

The Healthy Bowels Company produces natural bowel health products including the widely distributed three-in-one fibre formula Lepicol.

Protexin is the manufacturer of leading multi-strain probiotic brand Bio-Kult.

“We are thrilled to welcome Lepicol into our portfolio as we believe it complements the other brands that we manufacture and market, especially our popular multi-strain probiotic Bio- Kult,” says Protexin commercial director, Jonathan Sowler.

Protexin, which has invested heavily in scientific research and is working towards a probiotic EFSA health claim, recently won a Queens Award for Enterprise 2011. The company has seen continued growth year on year of over 20%, with products distributed to over 50 countries worldwide.

“Protexin are experts in the digestive health and probiotic field for humans, as well as making market leading products for companion animals, equine and agriculture. So, what better company is there to move Lepicol forward in order for it to benefit even more consumers” says Peter Jackson founder of The Healthy Bowels Company.
