The olive leaf supplement drink OVIVO has recently relaunched with a new organic, preservative- and sugar-free formula.

The infusion combines organic olive leaf extract with calendula, grape and lemon juice, and is described as having a refreshing herbal tea-style flavour.

The olive leaf extract contains high concentrations of the phytochemicals hydroxytyrosol, which is a powerful antioxidant, and oleuropein known for its antimicrobial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

A recent study also found that a 500mg dose twice a day of olive extract is as effective as an ACE inhibitor at reducing both diastolic and systolic blood pressure and lowers levels of triglicerides. A 70ml dose of OVIVO delivers over 10mg of hydroxytyrosol – over twice the amount the EFSA has ruled a product must provide to show antioxidant activity and qualify to carry health claims relating to cholesterol benefits.

OVIVO Co-founder Susan White says: “We are so convinced of the health-boosting properties of OVIVO that we are on a mission to spread the word far and wide. We are proud to be supporting on-going research into the compounds of the olive leaf in order to find new ways to extract its natural goodness.”

The infusion comes in 500ml bottles.
