Earlier this month Charlie Thuillier, founder of the Oppo healthy ice cream brand, flew with David Cameron to Italy to attend the Milan Expo.

No 10 and the UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) selected Oppo as part of a business delegation that accompanied the Prime Minister on an RAF jet to showcase that, in Cameron’s words “Britain is the place to do business”.

Thuillier was able to introduce Oppo to the Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi, as well as Lord Maude, Minister for Trade and Investment, HM Consul-General and Director UKTI Italy, Tim Flear MVO, and Christopher Prentice CMG, the UK ambassador to Italy.

“It was an honour to join David Cameron on his trip to Milan,” said Thuillier. “We certainly would never miss an opportunity to sell ice cream to the Italians! The UK start-up scene is ripe for innovation; Oppo is taking advantage of this and disrupting the ice cream market. Healthy ice cream … who would have thought it!”
