Pharmacare Europe has added two new lines to its Bioglan brand of nutritional supplements, initially to be sold exclusively through 720 UK Holland & Barrett stores.
The Calamari Gold range includes two high strength Omega 3 products made from squid that have been sustainably fished for the food industry, hence the name.
Squid oil is thought to be the most potent source of DHA on the market containing 5 times more DHA than Cod Liver Oil and 5 times more DHA than Krill Oil – all in a simple one a day pill.
The launch will be supported by a £1 million marketing campaign that runs from August.
Trishina Singh, brand manager at Pharmacare Europe, said: “We are incredibly excited to be launching a UK first which has the backing of years of research. Consumers will benefit more from Calamari Oil than traditional fish oils and the high potency of Omega-3 and specifically DHA means better value on price too.”
Calamari Gold is a one-a-day capsule and has RRPs of £19.99 for 30 500mg capsules and £34.99 for 30 1000mg capsules.
