Nairn’s is keeping busy this summer, extending its gluten-free offer with two new products as well as expanding its organic range.
The two new gluten-free products are Gluten Free Stem Ginger Biscuit Breaks and Gluten Free Cracked Black Pepper Wholegrain Crackers.
The Gluten Free Stem Ginger Biscuit Breaks are described as having an intense, fiery ginger taste and are packed in boxes of four convenient pouch packs aimed at the growing on-the-go snacking market.
The Gluten Free Cracked Black Pepper Wholegrain Crackers were developed to address the lack of a gluten-free option of this popular cracker flavour. Made with naturally gluten-free wholegrain oats, they are also packaged in handy pouches.
“At Nairn’s we are committed to providing high quality, gluten-free options that customers can rely on to be safe and delicious,” said Emma Heath, head of marketing at Nairn’s, commenting on the launch. “We have a loyal customer base for our gluten-free range and we continually strive to provide them with a variety of great-tasting options, using natural ingredients, including wholegrain oats. We are always keen to involved consumers in our new product development. Having taken test samples of these products to the Allergy & Free From Show in 2014 we were delighted to be able to share the finished product at the 2015 show where they went down a storm.”
With regard to its organic range, Nairn’s has relaunched its traditional Organic Oatcakes and added new Super Seeded Oatcakes.
The Organic Oatcakes hit shelves with a new recipe, enriched with oat bran – the most fibre-rich part of the oat – and a new-look pack with a contemporary design to ensure they stand out on busy shelves.
The new Super Seeded Oatcakes are packed with seeds – more, says the company, than any other seeded oatcake on the market – with flaxseeds, chia seeds and sunflower seeds, providing a naturally protein-rich combination, as well as a crunchy texture. They are designed as a versatile snack, especially pre or post exercise.
“We’re delighted to be extending our organic options with the relaunched Organic Oatcakes and the new Super Seeded Oatcakes,” said Paddy Cronin, sales director at Nairn’s. “Both are aimed at encouraging consumers to rediscover organic, providing high fibre, wheat free options for those looking for a healthier snacking option. The Organic Oatcakes have a new, wholesome look and a new recipe, enriched with oat bran, to drive consumers to buy organic. The Super Seeded Oatcakes are the first oatcake on the market to contain chia seeds, tapping into an important consumer trend and offering a natural source of protein.”
