New children’s natural and organic bath and bodycare company Marili Skincare aims to make bath time more fun with the help of a range of characters based on Zimbabwean wildlife.

Free from SLS, parabens, petrochemicals and mineral oils, the African-inspired range was developed by Zimbabwean national, and now UK resident, Marili Aitken after spotting a gap in the market for natural, organic, child-friendly products.

The offer comprises two-in-one Hair & Body Wash available in Strawberry & Honey and Caramel & Honey varieties; Papaya Foaming Face Wash made with orange blossom flower water and papaya; Organic Lip Balms in Strawberry, Caramel and Chocolate, the latter including a dollop of real organic chocolate.

The colourful packaging is designed to appeal to children, and incorporates five characters: Tatti the leopard, Rista the elephant, Zig-Zag the zebra, Nina the giraffe and Dudzi the hippo.

“The industry currently lacks a framework of standards and strict regulations so anyone can sell an ‘organic’ product even if it’s only 1% organic,” said Aitken, commenting on the launch. “In the Marili Skincare range our products are between 70% and 99% organic and we clearly and honestly state the content in each product.”
