Probiotics manufacturer Protexin has been awarded a Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2011, for its continuous achievement in International Trade.

Protexin, owner of the Bio-Kult brand, is one of the leading investors in the research into probiotic bacteria, where it works extensively with major universities and research centres. The company’s products are manufactured in the UK at its new purpose built, state-of-the-art premises in Somerset.

Commenting on the award, Protexin commercial director Jonathan Sowler said: “To be awarded this prestigious award for our continuous achievements over a long period of time is something we are all very proud of. The dedication of all our employees to ensuring we continue to meet our aim of producing the most innovative and scientifically researched products available is recognised with this award from The Queen, and we look forward to even greater success in the future.”
