The Kabrita Gold advanced follow-on formula, based on goats’ milk, has launched in the UK following recent changes to EU regulations, early in 2014, which enables goats’ milk to be used as a protein source for baby formulas.
Specifically developed for parents looking for a nutritious, cow milk-free follow-on formula it contains Kabrita’s exclusive DigestX OPO-fat blend, inspired by the fatty acid profile of mother’s milk.
Kabrita’s unique combination of high quality Dutch goats’ milk and goat whey protein concentrate makes it the only goats’ milk formula that has a casein: whey ratio in line with the UK’s leading advanced, cow’s milk-based formulas.
The formula is also enriched with essential vitamins and minerals, prebiotics, and unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids.
Commenting on the launch, nutritional therapist, Yvonne Bishop-Weston, said: “Historically goats’ milk has been known for its improved digestibility and anecdotal evidence has shown benefits in particular for those struggling to digest cow’s milk and for babies with eczema. To now have this approved by the European Food Safety Authority and recognized as an option in the UK will make it easier for parents to make informed choices about the best choice for their individual child.”
Kabrita Gold is tailored to each stage of an infant’s development, including Kabrita Gold 2 Follow-on Milk, for six to12 months and Kabrita Gold 3 Toddler Milk, for 12 to 36 months.
Kabrita gold is distributed in the UK by Tree of Life.
