JimJams two low-sugar chocolate spreads launched into independent health stores earlier this year.

JimJams Milk Chocolate Spread and Hazelnut Chocolate Spread (which won two stars in the Great Taste Awards 2015) have no added sugar and 83% less natural sugars than other leading brands.

The spreads were created by Kellie and Kevin Bath – after realizing that 57 cubes of sugar went into his kids’ favourite chocolate spread – in a bid to fill a gap in the market for low-sugar alternatives.

“As a parent, you want the best for your children,” says Kellie. “I am not alone. When we realized that there was a gap in the market for healthier chocolate spreads, it became a mission to create something that tasted fantastic – yet that also contained less sugar. JimJams has a broad appeal; it is for mums who would like their children to consume less sugar, but still enjoy a treat – and for children who want a spread that is fun and funky! It is also for adults looking for a nostalgic comfort food.”

The two spreads join JimJam’s range of low-sugar jams and marmalades.
